The Bureau of Meteorology provides several thousand products in a variety of formats using several delivery media. Most products are freely available, however some of the more specialised ones attract a cost recovery charge. This page explains the types of products which are available, the main access and delivery channels, and provides references to charging and subscriber information. |

The Bureau of Meteorology's "Basic Product Set" defines those products available free of charge to the public via the mass media and the Internet. Please read the introduction to the Basic Product Set. | |

| PRODUCT TYPES | |
| CLIMATE DATA | Extracts and summaries from the national climate archive (tables and maps) |
| FORECASTS | Weather predictions up to 7 days ahead (usually text format) |
| WARNINGS | Alerts of dangerous weather up to 2 days ahead (usually text). Includes wind and storm warnings, fire weather warnings and flood warnings. More information on the Bureau's warning services is available here |
| OBSERVATIONS | Data reports updated at various frequencies (text, tables, maps) |
| NWP | Numerical Weather Prediction output from computer models (text, gridded data files, maps) These are prepared by the National Meteorological & Oceanographic Centre (NMOC). |
| SATELLITE | Images from geostationary and polar orbiting satellites (gridded data files, images, loops) |
| RADAR | Images from weather watch radar stations (images, loops) |
